1.好公司才有好股票
巴菲特认为，那些业务清晰易懂、业绩持续优秀、发展具有规划，并且拥有一批实力出众、能够为股东的利益着想的管理者经营的公司是值得投资者关注的好公司，购买这些公司的股票，你才能够切实获得利益。
2.站在公司拥有者的角度分析公司的情况
巴菲特判断一家公司是否值得投资的方法是，假设你是这家公司的所有者，站在这样的角度来评点公司的情况，你会更客观地认识该公司的经营情况，并确定它是否值得投资。
3.分析企业的竞争优势及可持续性
这样的投资分析直接关系到投资者能够在未来获得多少收益。巴菲特认为，这是投资环节中最为关键的一个分析步骤。巴菲特在投资某一行业的公司前，习惯对该公司在所从事行业中的市场地位、发展方向和上升空间做出自己的判断，从而决定是否入手该公司的股票。
